      It is! I watched it! It was quite enjoyable, although so much plot got shoved into the last 20 minutes that I would not have understood it if I didn’t already know some of it from the anime version (which I disliked and dropped partway through).

        Was the female’s childlike voice that got to you in the anime? That and the darkness of the spiritual battles got too much for me.

          It was mostly the FL’s abject submissiveness, although the childlike voice and manner didn’t help – I know it’s a fairytale trope and there’s a huge cultural difference, but it was just too much for me. Having a live actor in the same role made all the difference. Short episodes parceled out once a week were also a hindrance because I couldn’t speed through to get to the point where the FL started to come into her own, although I expected that to happen. I didn’t get far enough to know if the darkness would be an issue.

            Once the darkness came out in essence I walked, I saw the sister get dealt with and the female lead start to change so that was a good enough point to walk away knowing all would be well.

      Rewatched it a zillion times , Ren Meguro as Kyoka Kudo ,i loved the anime ,but my favorite is with Ren Meguro . I liked it can´t speak for anime lovers do .

    I enjoyed the anime but loved the movie even more! It was all very fast paced but i think the leads did a great job connecting..i have a feeling the fact that i watched the anime probably helped my understanding. Otherwise it was like a movie on superspeed 😄
