Frankly Speaking episode 5: Oh no. This funny, fresh show just morphed into something completely different.

Something squirmy and tacky and unoriginal. There’s far too much screentime for the hackneyed β€˜reality’ show plotline and far too little for our big-hearted FL and big-mouthed ML, both of whom have suddenly become cringing, passive reactors. It’s Love Is for Suckers without the bare torsos. So disappointing. Dating shows ruin everything they touch.

When the FL Hong-jo’d herself into the woods alone, I knew I couldn’t continue for now, but I’ll keep an eye on the recaps and fanwall. If this unfortunate tangent continues past the next episode, it’s a drop.

I think it’s lucky I never saw Love Is for Suckers, clearly as that’s the comparison everyone is making.

I’m still enjoying it for now, but do hope that the dating show will only last through next week before we get the last four episodes doing something else…like getting Ki-baek his next job or sth.

It’s definitely good we are fully halfway through.

I had a similar reaction to episode 5, but I do think episode 6 was much better. Agreed with Seon-ha that I’d like to see the dating show part of the story wrapped up asap. Fortunately, the previews for episode 7 appear to be headed in that direction.

🤞 Better be good. Haven’t had a chance to see episode 6 yet. But I have hope.
