OMG this is so interesting ...I was just sharing your post with a gf (yes, that 博君一肖 & WYB fan lol) that XZ got vindicated in his lawsuit after 5 years, she actually voiced an interesting opinion (but also cos she is WYB fan)
She thinks WYB went on to take partial ownership and shareholder control of his agency in order to be able to have a say in this, and to buffer and protect XZ from the 2020 fallout. Considering how horrific it was (I mean, daily death threats to family? You should sue) I was like, then if there was no backend intervention to begin with, the smear campaign might have been even worse. That thought was quite chilling (if true).
She actually thinks the govt may have been involved in some measure cos she noted that it's no coincidence the leads from two of the hottest BL dramas (Untamed and Word of Honour) got cancelled. Anyhow it's a bit like the HK film industry in the 80s-90s where the triads ruled.

Sorry. About 20 minutes into episode 6 I pulled the ripcord. Drop. I enjoyed Jin Goo’s appearance and tune at the end of episode 5. Probably what did me in was how much (guessing 75%) there was of cHaracters talking to themselves or to an animal (the dog).
I have always found it annoying when the writer has to move the plot along with excessive talking to oneself by characters. I couldn’t take another 4 and a half episodes of it.

Welh made a very good point- but what if his Father-in-Law wanted him to live in the mansion? Of course, BoA might not want that either.

experimenting with our nested replies to say - this is happening all the time to me too (notification links only take me to the page or the general area (!) of my comment, not the exact comment itself like it used to....) But hopefully this is part of what is also being fixed :)

SFLS isn't common, or maybe I have not watched the "right" shows which give it.
The only case that now comes to my mind is Grand Prince. I didn't like nor dislike the FL, but there was a "half-barbarian" girl who spent years with the ML while he was exiled and presumed dead.
They had a great relationship and had been through a lot together. And she really loved him.
I think I can consider it a case of SFLS.

That’s okay!! That’s why I’m here 😊 If there’s ever anything that comes up as you continue to watch and you have questions or get confused, don’t hesitate to give me a shout (tag).
Yes!! As Zang Hai continues on his journey of revenge, he also finds a chosen family with some of the people he encounters along the way! 😊😊

Totally agree on everything. Well, I didn't watch the second episode but I think I'll keep reading the recaps, and maybe I'll check the sequences set in the past (if there are more).

He lives? Zhang Hai gets a support character? That makes me feel much better! No, I had completely missed that it was chubby who gave him the tour. I've been stopping/starting/having to backtrack to make sense of it all so there is no way I would notice something you missed first time : )

I liked some parts of this--a few of the zany comic scenes were funny, and the pre-romance dynamic between the older versions of the FL and ML is pretty convincing--you can see how they are going to fall for each other. Others I didn't like-- the piling on of hardship to the FL, and the makeup and hair, for all the reasons already mentioned above.
That permanent blush really bugs me the most, because of course it does not exist except (sadly) in homeless suffering from constant exposure to the elements. So I really hate that. But as @kdramakat suggests, its an obvious reference to She Was Pretty--probably an attempted joke about it. I am going to feel really cheated, though, if Uhm Jung-hwa is made up like that the whole show, because she is a really beautiful woman, and it is so rare in kdramas that the beauty of 55+ women is acknowledged rather than having older women treated as one dimensional Moms or asexual grandmas.
My main complaint is that so far this show veers wildly in the emotions it is attempting to evoke--laughter at the madcap comedy; feeling really bad for the FL; anger at the villainous rival, the gangster manager and the rapist politician; and intrigue with the mystery. So I didn't get at all from these 2 episodes what was being set up here.
Because I'm not quite sure about this one, I might be totally wrong about the way it proceeds. But I have a feeling that the show is going to jump back and forth between the early FL/ML and the later versions, which might assuage some of @vienibenmio concerns.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out a lot of the later story, which now appears as a mystery involving cosmetic surgery and forced amnesia, will instead just be something that the younger version of the FL is "dreaming" or anticipating as a result of her being awakened and kidnapped, or something---and the nefarious plot of her manager and the rapist politician will be exposed before it fully gets underway, as her fantasy older version of herself will "discover" it with the older version of her detective.
Then she'll have a proper career, there will be a time skip and you will see the older couple happily together, with the FL, hopefully an unmade up version of Uhm Jung-hwa having learned the lesson that even the most privileged life can change in an instant, and you should work to be the best version of yourself and treat others well at all times, or something lesson like that.
But, as I said, I could be completely wrong, and the show could just totally collapse, into unfunny, un-engaging confusion.

Totally, so I completely understand why people say that there’s even a difference in how a person is when they’re 18 versus 21– just 3 years difference, but the mindset of “just beginning adulthood” compared to “only just getting my footing in adulthood” is also quite stark

That was lovely. So much personal growth in five years and all that time he's been in chancery.
He filmed that interview when he was the same age as WYB is today, 28 years. Five years is a big gap at that stage of life.

This drama has become my weekly reminder that being responsible and filial just ruins you... you should just be reckless and selfish for things to go your way.
SC was basically guilt tripped into joining a gang as the "man of the house" because his dad got locked up and wanted to pay back a moral debt that had nothing to do with SC... Now that he is out of that life, SH is guilt tripped by her NPC mom to push back her dreams until they settle a debt, that again, has nothing to do with SH... Meanwhile, dad and SK just go around without properly apologizing for their poor decisions. Especially SK that is living the good life living rent free, cosplaying as "the mom" with a suitor and a job handed to her to boot!! We don't really need to see the scene to know SH went running to pay the debt while the one at fault would just sit their ass doing nothing about it.
We know that, MY and SC go past the noble idiocy breakup but the fact that it even happened didn't sit well with me. Just like with KH and SH, keeping secrets instead of talking things out can only do more harm than good, even more so when lives are at risk. TH going the deranged supervillain route when I thought he was going to move on when he called SC to have a meal with him just baffled me... He started off as a mysterious character with all the right to be mad at the Chairman and maybe a crush on FL but he got a lobotomy -thanks writers!- abd went full on douchebag even to SC that basically saved his life twice. He sent a Truck of Doom for what?! leaving the gang meant he didn't accept the hit to kill him so why? I thought it was Sang Yeol that wanted to end him because of what Chairman said and it would have fitted the story. TH is making no sense for real. Even if SC is out of the picture, MY wont look at him.
SC is reckless too since iirc he knew they were following him but he just took no measures to protect himself.

And thank you for even imagining that. I didn't.
Or, the middle option is kind of both of them, but melted together, so not really a throuple - Nah, yours is a fourth option. And I want to hear more.

In Romance is a Bonus Book, Hae Rin is in love with Eun Ho and I thought they could make a pretty sweet couple. Her parents also thought he was the best. But he only has eyes for his noona who for most of the drama just saw him as a little brother. Eun Ho's letter rejection of Hae Rin was a sad scene since she had so much hope - I felt bad for her but she took it well all things considered.

I love your story, too! (Even if I like my own better).
First and foremost it would of course be a fourth option right from the start. And then there are the questions, like:
Who has which body, then?
If they are both in the Queen's body, then how is control administered?
How do Bong-hwan and So-young feel about each other - I know he felt defensive of her when he found out how unhappy she had been, but apart from that?
If they have each a body, then how did they get an extra body?
***
I'd like to see the flow chart, and I am not being sarcastic or anything - I want to see the answers 😍
Though I do think that the one the King falls in love with is Bong-hwan. But ... she is nice, too, he can like both, maybe!

I agree!! She’s done her homework, and in great detail. Not many people will do that, especially not interviewers from magazines (I suspect it is why we see giant blocks of text of just the celeb sharings with not that many questions in a lot of magazine pictorial interviews) and social media platforms. I think it is because he trusts this magazine and the professionalism of the people there and that is why he made a “5-year promise” with them previously that he would do a pictorial with them and let them interview him again (the last time he did it, when the “5-year promise” was made in 2019, to be fulfilled in 2024/2025– the 2019 interview here:
