Brewing Love: Episodes 1-2

I mean, whether or not I watch the show, I'm hoping to keep reading the comments on the recaps for the beer enthusiasts. I am not a big fan of beer but I am a big fan of food history! Also fermentation! You know humanity wouldn't have bread if it weren't for beer.

This week was fairly easy to watch, no angst and not very much cringe. That's harder to do than it sounds, so good on you show! It was also fairly forgettable (for me), but not everything has to be groundshaking. Favourite moment was right at the end- He has a proper hairband round his wrist ( in case she needs it) and she is wearing sneakers ( instead of army boots).

I feel like you Kurama- "everything seems a little bit forced".
I will keep watching to see how it unfolds.
I really enjoy the lead actors but there's something about their characters/writing that feels like they are trying too hard.

I didn't even watch a second of this show but I can relate and love your comment. I don't remember the last time I saw the exploration of the relationship between the artist and their art. Must be rare in cinema. It needs to be explored more because it's a fascinating topic to meditate on and take lessons from.

I really enjoyed both the fake meal prep and the catty banter in the elite, female-only (?) cooking classes depicted in Perfect Marriage Revenge. There were certainly chopping skills on display, mainly there to elicit high levels of rich-ajumma-based judgement. No harsh words from the owner, though. She was a gem...for reasons revealed in the show.

"Love in Contract" has a lot of scenes of food prep (and consumption) with the OTP -- it's both the love language of the quiet ML and showcases their different personalities. In Ep. 2, the FL improvises a dinner for him -- complete with shots of her slicing, stirring, chopping, seasoning, grating and frying -- and he can't even bear to watch because he knows how much of a mess she's making in his kitchen. But it's a delicious meal, and eating together is the foundation of their (business) relationship.

I thought he was saying hops/sensitivity/personality traits can make up only a tiny part of the beer/person, but they are the distinctive part that flavours/affects all of the the beer/person.

There's no better beer than Sapporo...the Budweiser of Japan. Discuss.
