Song Kang made his acting debut in 2017 with a supporting role in the tvN romantic comedy The Liar and His Lover. In 2018, he was nominated for the Male Rookie Award at the SBS Entertainment Awards for his work as a cast member of the variety show Village Survival, the Eight and as a host of the music program Inkigayo. In 2019, he landed his first main role in the hit Netflix series Love Alarm. In 2020, he led the Netflix apocalyptic horror drama Sweet Home, which scored him a Best New Actor for TV nomination at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2021, he played a financially struggling ballerino in the tvN series Navillera. That same year, he was paired with Han So-hee in JTBC’s romance drama Nevertheless.
Song Kang shared in an interview with Cosmopolitan Korea that his childhood dream was to either be an architect or a furniture designer. He studied film at the Konkuk University.
