Park Yong-woo made his first screen appearance in the 1993 SBS series Professor Oh’s Family. His early notable works include the films Shiri and Ditto, which were released in 1999 and 2000, respectively. In 2003, he became part of the main cast of the KBS1 sageuk Age of Warriors, which earned him an Excellence Award at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2005, he starred in the period thriller film Blood Rain along with Cha Seung-won and Ji Sung. His performance in the movie won him Best Supporting Actor at the 13th Chunsa Film Art Awards and the 4th Korean Film Awards. In 2006, he acted alongside Choi Kang-hee in the sleeper hit film My Scary Girl. In 2007, he stripped off his “good guy” image for director Jin Kwang-gyo’s crime drama movie Beautiful Sunday. In 2010, he returned to television with a leading role in the SBS medical period drama Jejoongwon.
Park Yong-woo attended the film and theater department of Chung-Ang University. He previously dated actress Jo Ahn.
