Park Bo-young made her official acting debut in the 2006 EBS school-centered series Secret Campus. In 2008, she starred in the KBS2 Peabody Award-winning teen drama Jungle Fish with Kim Soo-hyun. That same year, she acted alongside Cha Tae-hyun in the hit movie Scandal Makers. The film earned her numerous acting awards, including Best New Actress at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards and the 30th Blue Dragon Film Awards. In 2012, she and Song Joong-ki headlined the film A Werewolf Boy, which was nominated for Best Film at the 49th Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2014, she took home an Excellence Award at the 22nd Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards for the throwback ’80s teen movie Hot Blooded Youth. In 2015, she was paired with Jo Jung-seok in the tvN series Oh My Ghostess, in which she won an Excellence Award at the 4th APAN Star Awards. In 2017, she bagged a Best Actress nomination at the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards for her portrayal of the titular role in JTBC’s Strong Woman Do Bong-soon. In 2018, she was nominated for Best Actress at the 39th Blue Dragon Film Awards for her performance in the first-love melo film Your Wedding.


Park Bo-young’s father is a former member of the South Korean Army’s Special Forces. She has two sisters.
