Lee Yi-kyung began his acting career in 2011 with a minor role in the MBC series You’ve Fallen for Me. In 2013, he became part of the widely popular SBS fantasy romantic comedy You From Another Star, which earned him a Best New Actor nomination at the 7th Korea Drama Awards. In 2016, he acted a supporting role in the hit KBS2 series Descended From the Sun, which took home the Daesang at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2017, he was cast in the 12-episode KBS2 drama Go Back Spouses. In 2018, he bagged his first main role in JTBC’s Woohoo Waikiki and reprised his role for its second season. Also in 2018, he acted alongside Kim Sun-ah in the MBC mystery thriller Red Moon, Blue Sun, in which he was nominated for an Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards.
Lee Yi-kyung’s father was the CEO of LG Innotek. In an episode of JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, he shared that he dropped out of high school due to depression. He dated his Woohoo Waikiki co-star Jung In-sun for over a year. He completed his mandatory military service in his early 20s.
