Kim Bora debuted as a child actress in the 2006 drama film For Horowitz. Some of her early notable works are the 2007 movie Children of Heaven and the 2010 KBS2 drama Jungle Fish 2. In 2013, she starred in the film Misaeng: Prequel, which was based on the webtoon series of the same title. In 2016, she acted alongside Lee Sun-ho in the movie Night Song.
Kim Bora’s major career breakthrough came in 2018 when she was cast in JTBC’s megahit social satire SKY Castle, which won her the Popular Female Character trophy at the 12th Korea Drama Awards. In 2019, she portrayed the heroine in the romantic melo film Goodbye Summer. In 2020, she joined Joo Sang-wook in Channel A’s romantic comedy Touch. In 2021, she appeared as one of the main characters in the omnibus series Love Scene Number, which earned her an Excellence Award nomination at the MBC Drama Awards.
Kim Bora attended Inha University’s theater and film department. She dated her SKY Castle co-star Jo Byung-kyu for a year and a half before they parted ways in 2020. In June 2024, she married director Jo Ba-reun.
