Jung Jin-young began his decades-long acting career in the late 1980s and has since appeared in dozens of films and TV series. He established himself as a reputable actor in the 1998 romance melodrama film A Promise, which gave him two Best Supporting Actor trophies. He found more success with his participation in numerous films by director Lee Jun-ik such as 2005’s The King and the Clown and 2008’s Sunny. He then starred in the hit KBS2 sageuk Kingdom of Wind, which earned him an Excellence Award at the 2008 KBS Drama Awards. In 2011, he led another film by Lee Jun-ik called Battlefield Heroes, which is a sequel to 2003’s Once Upon a Time in a Battlefield. His performance in the movie won him Best Actor at the 33rd Golden Cinematography Awards. He also received an Excellence Award at the 2011 KBS Drama Awards for the medical series Brain. In 2015, he joined the main cast of the MBC melodrama Dazzling Temptation, which scored him a Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2020, he made his directorial debut in the mystery-thriller Me and Me, which brought him several Best New Director wins and nominations.
