Joo Hyun-young made her acting debut in the web fantasy-drama Govengers. In 2019, she appeared in another web series called Best Mistake, which ran for three seasons. In 2021, she became a cast member of the Coupang Play comedy-variety show SNL Korea. Her work in the program won her the Best Female Variety Performer at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards and the Best New Female Entertainer at the inaugural Blue Dragon Series Awards. She then joined the hit 2022 ENA legal series Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
Joo Hyun-young studied theater at Kookmin University.
