Jo Yeo-jung started her career as a magazine cover girl in 1997 before transitioning into acting in 1999. After years of acting, she finally came to prominence in 2010 with her starring role in the erotic period film The Servant. In 2012, she appeared in another steamy period movie called The Concubine, which earned her a Best Actress nomination at the 21st Buil Film Awards. In 2015, she won Best Supporting Actress at the 34th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards and the 6th KOFRA Film Awards for Obsessed. In 2019, she rose to international fame for her role as Mrs. Park in director Bong Joon-ho’s acclaimed black comedy thriller film Parasite. The movie won numerous accolades, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. Jo Yeo-jung was also named Best Actress at the 24th Chunsa Film Art Awards and the 40th Blue Dragon Film Awards for her performance in the movie. Aside from films, she also starred in several successful television dramas such as tvN’s I Need Romance in 2013 and KBS2’s 9.9 Billion Won Woman in 2019.
