Dasom debuted as part of the South Korean girl group Sistar in June 2010 with the single Push Push. In August 2011, they released their debut studio album So Cool. Meanwhile, their second and final studio album titled Give It to Me hit the airwaves in June 2013. The group also released several extended plays, single albums, and collaboration albums. Additionally, Sistar is one of the South Korean artists with most number-one songs on the Gaon Digital Chart. They disbanded in 2017.


Dasom landed her first acting role in the KBS2 sitcom Family in 2012. In 2014, she was cast as lead in the KBS1 daily drama Melody of Love, in which she bagged several Best New Actress nominations. In 2016, she made her big screen debut in the movie Like a French Film, playing the role of a pub hostess. In 2017, she joined the main cast of the SBS series Band of Sisters, which won her Best New Actress at the SBS Drama Awards. She was also nominated for Best New Actress at the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards for her performance in the series.


Dasom has an older brother.
