Parasite winning big at the Oscars is a win for SO many different reasons. Obviously, the team that created this masterpiece is going to be happy and proud. This has nothing to do with me. The only way I was “involved” was that I watched the movie – and got 5 (yes FIVE!) other people who roll their eyes at me when I talk about K-dramas to watch it with me. They all enjoyed the movie and were now open to other foreign language productions (Doesn’t have to be K-ent!)
So then, if this has nothing to do with me, why do I feel such a feeling of contentment and satisfaction towards their win? I don’t gain anything from it. I am just so darn happy for the team. I don’t understand this emotion but it’s there.
To everyone that was involved in the success of Parasite, including the audience, congratulations!
