What if Baek Kyung, instead of possibly ordering Haru to kill DanOh, has ordered for Haru to be killed (in the Shadow), but DanOh ran to save Haru?
Because for now, I can’t think of any reason why Prince Kyung would order Haru to kill DanOh.. but that’s not the case with Haru.
As we’ve seen before, Prince Kyung later discovered that Haru has feelings for DanOh, and since he was not yet aware of himself in Flower, he could have ordered to get Haru killed because of “betrayal”?
He might ordered it to test his loyalty, or he found out about his feeling and just be a jerk about it. Kinda like the flower delivery scene, but much much crueler.
Danoh was definitely a stand-in for someone else who was meant to die that night, she was not meant to die at all…I think.
It would’ve been someone who needed to die for plot purposes, and Haru and Danoh manipulating the stage caused Danoh to get pulled in as a standin instead.
It could be Haru or Danoh’s father, but I’m not too sure at this point
Oh this makes sense.. it might explain why they needed to introduce this “stand-in” concept.. if that’s true, then I have to give a big clap to the writer of the drama, because he/she has written it so well and everything is connected!
I don’t think the Queen Dowager ordered her death. Dried Squid says he lost everything because of Kyung. I think that could mean Kyung killed her (although he might also be saying Kyung is the indirect cause, since the Queen Mother might’ve killed the girl because she thought the girl would be used against the king by Kyung).
I think he had it in the Shadow. Because his set up in Trumpet Creeper is to be faithful to Baek Kyung. Although, it could be since he’s the Second Leading Man there (just like DoHwa in Secret)

It would make him so cruel, and the writer would be blamed a lot for it… (i surely will..)
the theory in the comment below is plausible..

The chaka-nim is a cruel piece of shit anyway, so I don’t put it past him or her. But oh man, this show is breaking my heart.

I wonder if Dried Squid’s lover also got killed, because of the manipulation of the stage, during the same event…

I think she could have been killed in the Stage.. maybe Dried Squid’s mother ordered it, since she’s just a servant (if I’m not mistaken)

Or the woman whom the king loves.

I’m not sure. Did Haru have feelings for Dan-oh while on stage? Was that part of the plot in Trumpet Creeper? It’s not clear to me.
