Episode 12 of Tale of Nokdu subs are out, and gosh, I’ve got such a crush on Sook ~ right now i want to change the story so Nokdu ends up with her, as the kept man of uri awesome Female Assassin Guild
Not to gush, but that scene where the Moowoldan went from preparing dinner to killing the armed guards gave me chills ~ reminds me of how I felt when Moo Yul would show up to a fight in Six Flying Dragons. Epic.
Disclaimer: I am very aware of the plot holes, the uneven storytelling, etc etc., but it’s meant to be a silly drama and I’m going to watch it as such. One thing that I do wish was different is the missing heir plot line ~ why every sageuk, serious or otherwise, has to involve royalty is beyond my comprehension. I recall this being one of my hang ups about Hwarang as well, that they made the male lead a contender for the throne. I just want a story of unashamed fluff about commoners, fighting and flirting their way through the rough living of Joseon ~ AND NONE OF THEM ARE ROYAL. Ahem, anyways, pet peeve, sorry to rant, continue with your day.
Sighhhhhh I guess you’re right. But we do get slice of life dramas that are mainly free from chaebols, occasionally. Is it too much to hope for a slice of life sageuk? (Or maybe it has been done and I am simply just not sageuk savvy enough)

Royalty is to Joseon what chaebols are to South Korea. 😂 SK dramas are definitely obsessed with who wields power.
