I remember that someone posted links to characters charts and further supplementary reading on The Longest Day in Chang’an but I can’t find it now when I finally get sucked into the show, help?
Around which episode did you get hooked? I left it at ep 5
I’m not sure if the show didn’t work for me or I was just too distracted and this one needed a lot of attention. I felt it wasn’t one of those which I could just FF.
Around 3-4, but I had to rewacht the first episodes because when I started I was too distracted by Untamed, then Legends and AMA 😀 Now when I cleared out all bingeable dramas, I could give my attention to this show and fully appreciate it, but I think it’s really a drama where one needs to fully concentrate on watching because it is so rich in details.
I think so too. I wish there were recaps somewhere so that I could just read up the first few episodes instead of rewatching. This is one drama which recap would help immensely! Maybe I am just not good at shows where things are more complex – like I would never be able to understand Arthdal Chronicles.
I don’t regret rewatching the first episodes it show me how much I miss out not paying attention the first time due to how fast pacing this show is, Arthdal is not even comparable.
@outofthisworld, I think it’s worth it, the first 3-4 eps are important because they introduce a lot of characters and this drama is not like Korean ones, it’s moving so fast and don’t bother to remind us where we met the character before, lol. As far as the plot goes, it’s pretty straightforward political thriller that some compare to “24”, and cinematography and attention to historical details are exquisite, and as a cherry on top it has remarkable female characters, what more viewers could ask for 🙂

If I want to invest brain work, I need to know if it would pay off. I cannot stand convoluted plots just for the sake of it.
