I watched this movie, Arrival (2016) on Netflix and it opens with Max Richter’s On the Nature of Daylight… the same music that plays during crucial parts of Light in Your Eyes. I’M NOT OKAY.
@mary, I don’t recall how I stumbled across this piece of music, but it really speaks to me. So do other pieces by Max Richter.
Thanks for the news that ARRIVAL is available on Netflix. It is on my to-watch list. I haven’t seen SHUTTER ISLAND, which is another film that used this in its soundtrack.
LIGHT IN YOUR EYES, like DEAR MY FRIENDS, is the kind of drama I need to be in the right mood to watch. The subject matter hits close to home. If it uses this music, then I already know my goose is cooked. On the other hand, it has a great cast. Kim Hye-ja got a Daesang for her performance, and Lee Jung-eun Best Supporting Actress.
Hiiiiiiii! I knew you’d eventually find this post since it’s about background music. :’)
Re: Arrival, I watched it not knowing that it received so many accolades along with the source novel (I honestly was just looking for my next alien/end-of-the-world fix). What a surprise gem. :O

Apparently it was used in Shutter Island too.
So I won’t trust any show/movie that uses it from now on. T_______T

Oooh! If ARRIVAL gets the IT Goddess Seal Of Approval, then I have even more reason to watch it. 😉
