While these are nice realizations, I’m surprised that Misaeng, My Ajusshi, Just Between Lovers, Because This is My First Life, among many others, are not in the list… I’ve definitely compiled a lot of quotable quotes from these dramas. Or maybe is it because the ones in the article are rom-coms and the ones I listed are melos? 🤔
Hey beanies! Any other life lessons from dramas that you’d like to share? 😊
Soompi (now after being partnered by Viki) and DramaFever used to have (for DF) and still have lists and quizzes that propel viewers to watch those dramas. Since, they have audiences that prefer rom-coms and at times new i-fans prefer rom coms too-these lists are only to lure them to watch these dramas. Misaeng, MA, JBL have few of the best quotes in dramas. Plus I have always found them to be slice of life rather than melo even if they are titled as melo. Melo I guess is something like Marriage Contract.
Go Back Spouses, definitely! The importance of cherishing those around you even when life makes it hard to appreciate them because you’re so weighed down my your own struggles. And that honest, open communication goes a long way to maintaining relationships.
In particular, I think of what Jin-joo’s mum said in ep11 of Nam-gil: “He’s too focused on his real mother to see the person by his side who’s really taking care of him.” Likewise, Jin-joo was so fixated on losing her mum that she didn’t realise and treasure Ban-do who was supporting her in his own way through all of it.

That article made me roll my eyes lol. Almost none of them were very… profound dramas.
