Hello fellow beanies, My PhD thesis has been safely delivered and I am slowly returning to the world (and Kdrama) again. How have ye been? What have I missed? Where should I start with my catch-up?
Thankee! It was on eighteenth-century Irish lit – a hot topic, to be sure. I enjoyed it very much but I do not think I have the stamina or laser-focus for a life in academia.
I have not seen it! The concept is very intriguing. Noted. Thank you! Hope the past few months have been good to you.
Wow, that is definitely something I have no idea in, hahah but it sounds interesting!
Thank you! The past few months had been fun, in terms of drama life and The Last Empress watching hahaha. Be prepared for a rollercoaster for every episode!
Congratulations! That is a SUPER Feat! There are many good shows out but it depends – if you want mystery, violence and rapid heart beat – watch Trap. If you want fluffy romcom watch Reach of Sincerity. If you want a well – crafted, though slight anxiety producing Saeguk, watch the Crowned Clown. If you like books and sweet romance – watch Romance is a Bonus Book. Fiery Priest still makes me laugh…
Or there is Wise Prison Life, MOTA and Strange Hero.
And welcome back!
So many options! Trap sounds good. I do love the lead in Crowned Clown. AND BOTH LEADS in Reach of Sincerity. I hope the cinematography is good because they deserve it. Thank you for the recs.
HAHA! I did not mean to diss BokSoo! I have been crushing hard on EVERYONE in “My Strange Hero”, as well as its swooping orchestral soundtracks and the limpid gazes of all involved. And Kwak Dong Yeon – as ever – stealing scenes and hearts. I am saving the last few episodes. It is so so wholesome.
Did Happy to Die not deliver? But the hope was so great?
I have no idea what either of you are talking about. “Happy to Die”? What’s that? Never heard of it. Does not exist.
I wish they’d adapt that manwha though. It would make the most epic kdrama. And whenever they do get around to it, boy I hope they don’t completely fuck it up.

Welcome back! So curious about what your thesis is on! On the other note, have you seen The Last Empress yet? My first recommendation!

Yay! I suggest the short drama Dance Sports Girls (Just Dance). Not always easy to watch, but it’s good.
