New K-pop group: ONEUS. Literally love everything about the song and the vocals and the choreo. 🥰The rap-line sounds amazing (and rap usually isn’t my thing). Why must Spotify take forever to upload new releases!?
Thanks for sharing! This is such a fantastic debut song. The vocals, rap, and choreo are really good. The group, with this concept, somewhat reminds me of SHINee (Lucifer era) and 2PM.
I’m a 2nd gen K-pop gal so those are the groups that I grew up with. 😅 2PM is one boy group that for me is unique as not a lot then were doing the manly and subdued sexy concept as well as they do.
SHINee is one group that I consider very inventive when it comes to songs and concepts. Their choreo is probably one of the most difficult in K-pop. Aside from Lucifer, you may also want to check out Everybody and Sherlock. (Though my personal favorite would be View.)
I remember getting into SHINee a bit when Fantastic Baby (Big Bang) came out and really liked Lucifer and Sherlock. I didn’t realize I’d actually gotten that much into K-pop then, haha. SHINee’s newest album is really great too, though quite a different sound.
@rusnicam and @hades recently did a 2018 year-end K-pop list on their fan walls that you may want to check out. There were also a lot of very good suggestions from other beanies. As for me, the groups that I listen to currently are iKON, Red Velvet, EXO, BLACKPINK, and IZ*ONE. I mainly got into K-pop though because of SNSD/Girls Generation, 2NE1, and SuJu.
I like the play on words with balkhiri and valkyrie! It’s not a bad song at all really. Nice beat and I like the guitar.
On the other hand, I’m getting a little annoyed with all the autotune though. Then there’s that whole unnecessary matrix thing. It could be that they’re forced to play that game because that’s what sells. Don’t get me wrong, they did do badly really. It’s just that I want something new from a debut.
I personally really liked it because it seems different rom the couple other debuts I’ve seen since I’ve started to really follow K-pop. Most seem to be cute/fluffy concepts and this is more the kind of music I listen to. I don’t seem to notice much of autotune in songs (unless I’m watching a live performance) so it’s not a big deal for me. But of course if every song had it then it would quickly get irritating.
Then, I’m also really biased. They’re under RBW Entertainment which also manages Mamamoo and Vromance which are two of my favorite groups. So I’m expecting these guys to have a good handle on their vocals. And they seem to from the few performances I’ve seen!
RBW is Mamamoo’s label?! Cool! I had no clue about the label tbh. I thought they were new. 😅
Regarding the difference in style for a debut, I think they remind me of Stray Kids in that way. They had a harder image at the beginning and got much much softer a few months after that. It wouldn’t surprise me–but actually it kinda will–if a group like ATEEZ does the same thing.
Then you have groups like NCT which somehow strike a nice balance had hard and soft.
The group is new, but I think some of the members have done different shows (like Produce 101, MIXNINE, etc.). Not familiar with those, but there is a bit of a fanbase already.
I really like all of those groups you mentioned (and was obsessed with Stray Kids debut). Not as familiar with ATEEZ, but it looks like they’re having a comeback in a few days so we’ll see.

I’m totally digging this song, so I’ll definitely check those two groups out. I vaguely remember Lucifer, but I wasn’t much into K-pop then.
