I’ve bought lots of stuff from Taobao.. Clothes, books, electronics and a serum to make my eyelashes grow longer HAHAAH.. You know it’s bad your eyelashes are shorter than Park Hyung Sik’s.
If you don’t speak Chinese, I suggest you get someone who speaks Chinese to help you with the post-purchase process. Most sellers on Taobao will want to confirm the purchase and ask if you have any specific instructions, your size (if you’re buying clothes.. if you haven’t selected the size during the purchase), and your delivery expectations. If there’s a major sale (the November 11 sale for example is like China’s Black Friday sales) or holiday in China, there will be delays cause everyone else on Taobao (in China or from other countries) will be buying things.
Hold on, if you’re not currently living in Malaysia or in China, just ignore those links. iMoney’s article might be tailored to Malaysians’ needs and Teaching Nomad’s article is for expats and foreigners living in China.
The guide linked below (How To Tao) is more suitable for you if you’re based in North America, Europe, Australia or New Zealand
You can also use a shopping agent like Ezybuy.com or Superbuy.com
These websites are in English. Be prepared to pay an agent’s fee or commission though. What you can do is copy and paste the URL of the item on Taobao into Ezybuy’s search engine and then just sorta follow the instructions.
Thank you for these links. I once tried to buy stuff from TaoBao but in the end I never recieved my purchase and it seemed that my items were sent to a warehouse or something. 😞 Hopefully this time, with the help of these instructions, all things will work out 😃
Being able to communicate in Chinese is certainly a big advantage. Hopefully, the How to Tao guide is useful to you.
In case you’re not sure, Jung Ryeo Won’s name in Chinese is 郑丽媛
And Hwang Jung Eum’s name in Chinese is 黄正音
同款 means same style.
So if you need a bit of help, just copy and paste their Chinese names and the words 同款 into the same engine and you’ll see all the clothing they’ve worn in dramas/movies/red carpets/photoshoots that’s currently available on Taobao.
It’s kinda hard to find clothes that were worn 10-15 years ago but I did find one or two of Hwang Jung Eum’s tops from She Was Pretty.
Yes that’s is great help! I’ve learned some Chinese before so I could do with guessing words and phrases through knowing a few simple characters but for TaoBao there’s too many technical terms that I’m so lost! Thank you for sending the names and the word for same style! They’ll
Come in handy for sure 😊

Jung Ryeo Won’s black pinafore/slip. Not sure if it’s the exact pinafore/slip but it’s very similar:

The green dress Hwang Jung Eum wore during the first kiss scene with Namgoong Min has been taken offline. Maybe it’s sold out.
I found similar dresses though.
