I do not watch melo’s very often, because I usually get depressed and infuriated. BUT, peer pressure obviously gets to me, because I am considering starting Just Between Lovers.
Could anyone tell me if I should do it, or will it be too heavy for a rom-com girl like me 🙂
The thing that makes JBL stand out from other melodramas that I have seen (and disliked) is that it’s dramatic without being dramatic. Everything is pretty grounded and real. Nothing seems overwrought or theatrical. It really does feel like you’re watching real people live their real lives.
I’m someone who loves comedy and only likes sad stuff when I’m in the right mood but I always find myself in the right mood to watch JBL when a new episode comes out.
Give it a try for 2-3 episodes and if you don’t like it no need to continue. Like mindy says it feels grounded and real – so there is pain and suffering as well as moments of calm and happiness (and the romance is slow-burning but so goooood).
I rarely watch melodrama but JBL surpasses the level of my craziness over any drama I’ve ever been addicted to. Give it a try unless you don’t want it to took over your kdrama world. 😁
JBL is all heart, emotional and dramatic without traumatizing its viewers. In spite of the seemingly heavy tone of the drama, it does not overwhelm me (and other JBL lovers) that by the end of an episode I don’t feel weigh down.
– a Beanie who has watched only 1 melo before JBL wait is 7 Day Queen a melo 😉

I think I’ll take your advice, I really don’t have any qualms about dropping dramas I don’t like 🙂
