My guess, the production already told tvN management about their issues and asked to delay this drama, but tvN ignored it and still wanted to premiere during Christmas so it caused this problem.
I just hope tvN still maintain their drama quality, but I guess profit does the same for everyone. It’s embarassing for a hyped drama to suffer this problem and during epi 2 at that. sigh. Thank God the rating went a little higher for epi 2 so at least the audiences are still staying.
yeah i can totally see tvN ignoring production issues like that, they want the new Goblin (ratings success) but they can’t have that if they rush things like they’re doing.
They should have postponed it from the start. I hope this will give them some time to sort things out. This kind of drama is going to require a lot of CG work all the way through. Maybe they’ll keep future episodes at 60 minutes at least.

So TvN issued a statement about episode 3 and 4 of Hwayugi, so apparently only episode 3 will air next week and episode 4 will air January 06.
what is going on with TvN?

I agree that they should’ve postponed the drama, i’m also hoping for the length reduction.

That all this is happening is so unfortunate.

It really is, i feel so sorry for the people working there, can you imagine the pressure they’re on?

Oh I know! I’m assuming the writers, and perhaps the directior, are furious. I certainly don’t blame them if they are.
