Is Captain Yoo in Smart Prison Living a nudge to DOTS’ Captain Yoo? If it is, then it’s pretty awesome LOL!

Replying here because I don’t know where else to post to you. I talked Tom into watching The Devil and analyzing and wow! fantastic comments. Wish you were with us! I’d love to get your insights.

I really wish I could join you guys! I haven’t watch Mawang and it’s been on my list for a very long time. But real life’s been pretty hectic towards this year end (no long holiday break for me sadly), and so by the time I’m about to start, you guys probably have finished watching.

But let me know the next drama you’d like to discuss, and maybe I’d be able to join in after this real-life craziness ends.

Tom hadn’t watched it either, so he watches a couple of episodes then makes his amazing analysis. He hasn’t finished yet. I try to re watch along with him to catch the visuals and the story of Faust retold thru Ju Ji hoon and Shin Mi na. It’s so good.
I hardly have time right now to watch anything and the only new one I’m watching is Just Between Lovers, which I really like, but in Ep 3 I’m still wondering what the plot is.

It sounds so much fun! I’ll try a couple of eps if I have time this weekend (although not sure if i can add more to my plate now). I’m still watching Wise Prison Life, and it feels like watching 2 shows of 4 eps already with the long hours they have for the drama. Dropping others for the time being, but would probably pick up I’m Not a Robot back for some laughs later when time permits.

Check out the most commented section – our discussion is now the most commented! Read some of Tom’s comments first because the show doesn’t get fantastic until the middle and it might not peak your interest the first couple episodes.
I’m only watching Just Between Lovers and I’d like to know what the scenes are in the opening credits. I thought it was photos of the Space Mall collapse that the leads were trapped in, but then they show the ferry that sank in real life so I’m wondering if the other scenes are other human error tragedies. The lead guy (forget his name) reminds me of a young Song Joon ki for some reason.

Just checked out Just Between Lovers ep 1. I think the scenes in the opening credits refer the Sewol ferry tragedy that impacted Korea in 2014.. I think the drama is a tribute to those dealing with the aftermath of a disaster, thus the sank ferry in the opening credit.

The collapsed building tragedy in the drama itself was inspired by another tragedy that happened in 1995. I remember watching a documentary once about the collapsed Sampooong shopping mall (and yes, it happened due to human error). Maybe you’d want to read it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampoong_Department_Store_collapse

But in the drama, the “supposed” accident happened in 2005 so I think they’re inspired by the incident but not exactly being historically correct about it.
