Like most Beanies I too was worried about the drinking more than the brewing parts. I am still not sure what is the tone that they are going for, but this strange little drama (as different from The Business Proposal as chalk from cheese) has some amazingly deep and frankly refreshing conversations.
The OTP’s conversation in the mountain in episode 3 when Min-ju shared his backstory was rather touching. It may have felt a little weird how it was filmed but Yong-ju telling him that he was not weird just kind was a beautiful moment. The whole dialogue was so sensitively written. She said not everyone can be kind, knowing their kindness would not be reciprocated. No wonder Min-ju fell headlong in love with her. 😂 He is amazed that (perhaps for the first time in his life) a person understands him so well.
Even in episode 4 the way Min-ju described how the flavor of the hops which are 1% of the volume of the beer decide it’s flavor was such a well-written scene. I have seen (even IRL) how people always describe “life” in terms of their profession. As a person who has always been called out for being over-sensitive I can empathize 😉😂 with Min-ju. I 💯 agree that a person’s personality is influenced to a large extent by their sensitivity.
I like how Min-ju is realizing his feelings for Yong-ju. Both these people deserve understanding and love. I am rooting for this OTP.
#1 – The brewery owner’s name is ν¬λ (podo) which means grape. Translation courtesy Google Lens. The name is usually subtitled as “photo” which again could be possible considering how much the ML enjoys photography.
That is so interesting about the catβs name! It is definitely subbed βPotoβ on mine, which is why I was confused by your previous comment. I think both would work, honestly.

I like both names too. 😂
The cat is such a sweet addition to the drama.
