I talked before about how NGNL getting a spinoff focusing on the second leads was giving me Bridgerton vibes. What is ALSO giving me Bridgerton vibes is that a lot of people are less excited or even going to boycott said spinoff because one of the characters behaved in a way that made them like or at least no longer want to root for the character’s romance. And just like Bridgerton, it seems to be the result of writers deciding to accomplish plot points using this character without either knowing or caring how how said actions would come across to viewers and impact perceptions of said character’s romance.
