      The headpieces are beautiful. I cannot imagine that they were all that comfortable.

        Same, they look heavy. It’s weight on weight with the wigs and headpieces and costumes, etc., and iirc this was filmed in summer, too 😭

            I’m pretty sure most costume dramas (historical, xianxia, wuxia, xuanhuan) are filmed in the summer for the scenery and easier travelling (especially if filming takes places on a mountain— don’t wanna be traversing thru a mountain where it’s colder and possibly snowy). It’s rare to see real/naturally produced snow in costume dramas. If there’s snow, it’s probably from a snow machine or CGI. Although, I think we may see some real snow from dramas that filmed earlier this year, as there was a huge snow storm that lasted 2 days in Hengdian and it happened when ppl were filming— EVERYONE was posting about it in their Weibo 🤣 There’s also an upcoming iQoYi drama that was filmed in the winter, a drama starting Joseph Zeng and Li Qin
