I finished Lost You Forever (first season) this afternoon and I’d like to share some thoughts on the male love interests. I am not going to count Feng Long even though he is supposed to be a contender for Xiao’s affections. He is a good man but he is ultimately better suited to being her friend and confident. Xiao makes it clear time and time again what she is looking for in a romantic partner. She desires a man who will remain faithful to her (no side women) and always put her first above all else. As a child she was abandoned by those who were supposed to care for her. She cannot bear the thought of being abandoned again as an adult. None of the remaining three men: Xiang Liu, Tushan Jing, or Cang Xuan can fulfill these requirements. Tushan Jing was always torn between his love for Xiao and his duty towards his clan. In the end, although I cannot fault him for his decision, he chooses his clan. Xiang Liu is a military advisor and he cannot abandon his duty to the men who serve under him. I believe that he truly loves Xiao but I do not believe that he would abandon his men and his duty to live out the rest of his days with her. Lastly, Cang Xuan. He is a man of great ambitions who is not afraid to utilize people; this includes Xiao, in order to further these ambitions. Lastly, he has been crowned the King of Xiyan. Cang Xuan will always have to place the interests and the needs of the kingdom over Xiao.
Hmmm… Part 2 is not as tightly produced as part 1, but it has a number of epic scenes. I also found it much more intense emotionally, if that’s a deciding factor for you.
I think it’ll help with your enjoyment of Season 2 if you dive right into it. The 1-year break in addition to the off-beat editing of Season 2 stunted my enjoyment of Season 2 juuuuuuuuuust a bit 🤏🏻🤏🏻
Hope you enjoy!! ♥️
Though I find that Eps. 1 & 2 were a little slow, because it does a lot of recapping and setting the stage for the rest of the drama

An excellent summary of what makes LYF such a compelling (and eminently debatable) watch!

Thank you! ♥ I am debating whether to dive right in to season two or watch another drama and then watch season two.

Intense emotionally is most definitely a deciding factor. I know that I’ll be emotionally wrecked but it will be worth.
