OK, so I’m on ep 11 of Midnight Romance (when he Jun was comparing himself to Si Wu and then stopped and said, but I’m not your student I’m your boyfriend and stole a kiss? I swooned, hard) but I have a question that was either answered early on and I missed it, they haven’t revealed the answer, or they are glossing over it because it’s a building block for the entire drama: why the heck does the Gray Witch and the Assistant Director from D. Chase have it in for Seo? So much of this drama is based on the fact that the Gray Witch is going after Seo hard and the assistant director is out in these streets being sus af but they never showed her peeing in either woman’s rice bowl or provided any reason why they are being such a jerk to Seo! Midnight Romance is a slow but good burn. Although, Seo hiding in ML (Jun??) closet when his mom popped by for an unannounced visit was lame. They are adults. Adults who love each other and do the dance of two backs. Let them do what they do in peace!
The main couple us giving me Something in the Rain vibes. Just like Jun-Hee and Jin-A the Fl wants to protect the ML by solving and removing all barriers by herself. Where Jin-A constantly reminded Jun-he that she was older Seo Jin (and ML to a lesser extent) constantly reminds him (not as often as Jin-A but enough to be noticeable) that he used to be her student. ML (Jun-ho I think?) reminds her that he was her student but he makes a joke of it or says things like I USED to be your student but now I’m your boyfriend. But now that this nonsense with Mr. Pyo is heating up it feels like she’s pulling away more and trying to stand in front of him and protect him from any fallout that the battle could bring than she did in the earlier episodes. Or rather she reverting back to the earlier eps before they started dating and she was trying to prevent him from joining the academy. Really reminding me of the time after the families found out Jin-A and Jun-he were dating and they were trying to deal with the aftermath. He wanted her to runaway with him, she wanted to stay and fight. She was looking at apartments when he left for a business trip. He asked her to not make a decision until he came home and they could discuss it. But, when he came home he went to her parents house to see her and was told she had moved out a d she happily showed him her new apartment trying her best to ignore his disappointment/anger/unhappiness.
The way I would describe it is the Gray Witch is the type “to have it or destroy it”
She can’t have Hye Jin, so she’s going to destroy her.
The AD is just a really salty person. I don’t want to give spoilers, so I’m just going to say that it’s because of her past.
I’m on ep 13 now, so I get the salty past but take that ish out on the actual person who ruined you. Seo is literally living her life trying her best by her students and faling in love and now these two monsters are teaming up to take her down for why? They have no reasons! Other than they are gross and should be pushed down flights of stairs that are so steep it will break their fragile old lady bones.
