*sigh* Miss Night And Day why do you have to make me hate Choi Jin-Hyuk’s character so much 🤬
Whatever, rewatching Zombie Detective to wash away the bad aftertaste. Also Zombie Detective season 2 when???
I haven’t yet started to watch Miss Night & Day I’m waiting for more episodes to drop so I can happily binge-watch a few. What makes you hate him in there?
He is not the worst ML I’ve seen, and in the first three episodes he seemed fine, if a typical grumpy workaholic. It’s episode four where the ageism and sexism was too much for me. I could give him grace if he initially thought she’s not suited for job, as he held preconceived notions and stereotypes about age, but she quickly proved she was competent, so I don’t understand why he didn’t want to work with her? Why was he adamant to give her impossible tasks? I fault the writing more, since he seems to be the type of character to acknowledge competence, but for whatever reason the drama made him pathetic in making impossible and sexist demands, (it’s not in her job description to get him dinner 😒) and trying to make her quit.
This is a really good explanation. And admittedly, there have been “worse” MLs that I’ve either been fine with or looked forward to them being “fixed.” But a difference for me here, is that he seems to have been directed ON PURPOSE to not be fun or caricatured with this character – he just seems like a real person who’s not nice. 😑 It’s almost as if he’s acting in a dark crime thriller and she’s in a fantasy rom-com. And after the sweet goodness of Sun-jae (Lovely Runner) and Ji-hwan (Sweet Mobster), the difference is too stark for me 😅
Haha it’s kinda why I wished he played a more playful character. Choi Jin-hyuk has a knack for comedy so it’s baffling why his character is such a mood killer. Like you said there seems to be two different dramas, a prosecutor crime thriller and a magical transformation rom com. I am now hoping the ghost in his apartment gets control of his body and causes pure chaos. And I still want a dance-off 😁

Yeah, I wish his attitude had changed as she demonstrated her competence, or he’d at LEAST looked like he felt some guilt for his behavior.
