I started feeling a bit uncomfortable about the way SunJae kept bulldozing his way into Sol’s territory. She repeatedly kept saying no and he continued to ignore it. They have no relationship in this timeline. No means no SunJae!!!!
Just a slight change of dialogue could have made a huge difference here I think. ‘Why do you keep crying whenever you see me?’ ‘Why did you call out to me in your sleep?’ ‘What are you hiding from me?’ ‘Why are you so familiar to me?’ Desperation route without the obsession would have been better.
Anyway I am eagerly waiting for that happy ending tomorrow!
Agree, the show is expecting a LOT of forgiveness for SJ’s pushiness based on us knowing what happened in all those other timelines, and us knowing that Sol still loves and misses SJ – but he doesn’t know that so he has no real excuse. I’m tolerating it but that doesn’t mean I don’t see it. I will acknowledge that the first time he expressed interest in her, as opposed to the movie, was in the Ferris wheel, and by that time his speech about it being Fate that kept drawing them together had a little more support from the plot.
Exactly! They could have focussed on desperation rather than the stalky obsession. After she turned him down the last time he went ahead and sent her the song! In a different world that would have been pushy and no one would have hit play!
I was gritting my teeth!! RESPECT HER BOUNDARIES!!!!
I completely endorse your point about how desperation would have been so much better than obsession. Just one tiny note: I think her boss, the production company president, sent her SJ’s demo – after all, he’s still involved in the movie so it’s not stalkery for him to cut a demo for it. But yes, he should have respected Sol’s repeatedly, clearly stated boundaries earlier than he did. It does also show that he’s a different person than the one we saw in previous timelines, but he’s not one I like as much. 🙁
I think he has always been a bit crazy in all timelines when it came to Sol. He was stalkerish during the college one (how he observes her back was emotional – remember? In Hyuk calls him out later on being a stalker). In fact the first accident happened because he didn’t wake her up in the bus so he could watch her sleeping (that was a bit pervy to be honest) and she missed her stop, lost her legs and he wallowed in guilt and self pity for fifteen years. That’s why I think individually they are not great, but together they are magic.
Also in this timeline, he reads her mixed signals and hence keeps pushing. She says no but keeps being emotional around him.

Also I loved the way it turned into a duet, and I’m enough of a sucker to forgive a lot for that! That made the song new again.

I loved her scene where she was crying and singing at the same time! Poor Sol. She hasn’t received much credit.
