I had an entire post planned but I’m too exahusted so here are some really good romantic chemistry in (not romance focused) KDrama

– Mo Mi and Chun Ae in MASK GIRL . Simply electric. every scene of them was so intense and you could feel they were meant for eachother. That dance scene! that use of the red string of fate!!

– the makeout scene in Gaus Electronics had NO BUSINESS being that steamy -while also being really, really funny. (shoutout to the secondary couple which I actually liked much more but like what was that office makeout)

– whatever Strangers from Hell had goin’ on with the male leads. though it’s like… evil romantic chemistry.
Sweet Home (season ONE) had such mellow, subtle yet sweet romance subplots. charactrisation was done soooo well there in general.

– I count the Red Sleeve as historical drama so it gets an in. Yi San and Deok Im… my heart…

I confess to watching the clip of that Gaus scene from time to time because it’s just so good. Everything from the acting to the direction to the background music is perfection. Here’s the link if anyone wants to re-live it, but I don’t recommend watching if you’re planning to watch the whole drama (HIGHLY recommended, btw. #hiddengem).

I’d love to see both of them in more roles like this.

There’s something delightful in presenting love and romance as humerous-not taking yourself too seriously but somehow making yourself more down to earth

It’s so relatable, that’s what I really loved about it. I wish more k-drama love stories were like this. Maybe because it was slipped into a workplace comedy they removed the stiffness of typical romcoms. Idk but I want more like this! 😀

Along the same lines, the two MLs in Beyond Evil had some crazy sexy chemistry going on, although there was ‘officially’ no romance line in that show.

Gaus was the best at being hot and hilarious at the same time. I’ve rewatched the episode 6 kiss … a lot.

yaknow, I never seen it in beyond evil myself, but like, I get it from the way their relationship unfolded. also, the two leads were fantastic.
