I see a lot of great and freaking good actresses sidelined for no good reason in K-drama world. So I wonder, how come Shin se-kyung still gets good roles that she obviously can’t pull out?
She is preferred as the one perfect to be the FL in SK sageuks. I guess it’s both her visual and the vibe she gives off. She has that beautiful but a bit detached vibe to her which might be seemed desirable for the FL in sageuks.
I haven’t watched many of her dramas, but there might be some truth to your opinion because she was good in “Deep Rooted Tree”. I also liked her in “Run On”.
100% of my knowledge of Shin Se-kyung is the 20 minutes of Captivating the King I watched last night, and I was Not Impressed. It was the gender-reveal/bedroom scene, where you would think actors would give it their all. Jo Jung-suk is amazing (of course he is) and she’s mostly kind of blank. “Reserved” would be a kind way of describing it.

Actually, her character was the only character I couldn’t really connect to while watching 6 Flying Dragons.
