Needed some Lee Min-Ho on my screen so I’m watching “Faith, Great Doctor” for the first time, which features Welcome to Samdalri parents, unforgiving father Sang-Tae and haenyeo mother Mi-Ja. Seen it?
I started it last week but I didn’t like the first episode, so I left it “on hold”. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood for a medical drama, and I didn’t like the FL (I know I can’t judge her in one episode), so I started Iljimae instead.
I’ll give it another try.
I did not know what that was at the time. A friend asked me if I wanted to watch a Korean drama, and I said yes, not knowing what to expect. I was hooked right away, so 24 episodes did not intimidate me. The longest dramas I have watched are Jumong (81 episodes, but well paced) and Queen Seondeok (62 episodes).
The wardrobe looks like someone went crazy in a fabric store. Some of the fabric and trim combinations don’t seem like the 1300s. A lot of it looks like fabric for curtains and pillows. I’m not sure about the jewelry and the shoes. The black king’s robe is different, too.

Ah ha! Will like to hear your views on it.
Watching old(er) dramas are tricky. It is almost as if they are from another world.

Impressive that you began with a 24-episode fusion-sageuk!

There are some fantasy elements in the drama, so the costume designer was not aiming for authenticity.
