SWITCH TO BLOG VIEW
Here is the japchae I had at a restaurant recently. Do you see the problem? I think it is visible without tasting. Alas, I was hoping for the Reply 1994 or True Beauty version.

It was drowning in too much sauce.

Hahaha they forgot and thought they were making jjajangmyeon!
I bet it was too sweet. I spot the broth right away and it didn’t look appealing. But appearance aside, was it good?
As you suspected, it tasted a bit too sweet, and the texture was quite soggy.
No doubt about the sogginess. This is the first time for me seeing japchae cooked like that. But I hope you enjoyed the other dish.
The other dish was dolsot bibimbap (stone pot), and it was prepared correctly (at least I thought so).
