Song of the Bandits E2. A great action scene, but it is set in 1920, and the German-made Schmeisser submachine-gun used here was not invented until 1938. Historical accuracy grade: “F”.
Honestly, it makes me wonder if anyone behind-the-scenes in kdrama production really cares about accurate historical authenticity. Or, perhaps, it is a case of some people caring about it, but it is intentionally being sacrificed due to production budget constraints. Probably the later.
Here is a scene of a Schmeisser being used in a historically-accurate scene (set in 1944) from the 1968 film Where Eagles Dare. I actually didn’t like this scene but that’s because I’m just tired of this kind of action scene and I’ve seen it too many times, and many more better.
