It’s been equally painful to just be able to read the article since NYT clearly didn’t allow unsubscribed reader to read fully.
But from what I managed to read, it was heartbreaking especially for the adoptees. I hope SK government acknowledge their mistake and somehow make amend.

Iβm so sorry NYT wonβt let you read it. Sometimes they seem less strict and I posted it hoping this would be one of those times. At the end thereβs a comment from a male adoptee about how Korea is very demanding about apologies and restitution from, for example, Japan re: the comfort women but Korea refuses to address this issue of their own.
It breaks my heart just reading the adoptees’ stories. Well, it’s no secret that we tend to criticize others than to reflect on our mistakes; it’s easier that way, huh? But the adoptee’ demand is very justifiable.
