How are you all doing in KDramaland? I’ve been rewatching Under The Queen’s Umbrella and The King’s Affection – a sageuk lover I’d like to have lived then but only if I was rich.

Hello, glad you are enjoying watching life in historical times. I just think they must have spent a lot of time feeling cold and death by easily cured illnesses in modern times must have been heartbreaking for families. Other than that I agree being rich was the best option.

Being a history buff from when I was a child, I always wanted to live in the past – back then it was in the 17th century and of course, I would have worn satin and silks and been wealthy!

I LOVED under the queen’s umbrella so much – due for a rewatch I think. I

As a lover of historical dramas (across any language and region honestly) I too fantasise about having lived then but only really nice if the past was tinted with the drama-lens as it is nowadays on tv/film I suppose hahaha

Yes, I know what you mean. The ladies are allowed to wander freely at will in KDrama land!

Rewatching shows were live it’s such a joy, isn’t it? ☺️

I’m trying to get one of my friends into korean cinema, so yesterday we watched House of the Hummingbird and today we’re planning to watch Decision to Leave.
I also asked her if we can watch a few Bollywood movies, and I’m thinking of showing her Queen (since it isn’t a musical) first, and then Devdas.

But if we talk about kdramas, I think this weekend was a little too much for me. I was super disappointed with CCIR’s finale and Divorce Attorney scared me with their first episode. I can’t handle well stuff involving kids, they took it too far, imo.

Devdas was an epic film thanks for reminding me of that one!

Queen is one of my all time favorites. I think I’ve watched it 3 times already.
Another wonderful Indian film is Taare Zameen Par or “Like Stars on Earth”
Both very heartwarming and positive and sweet.

This is like a trip down memory lane. I still use the example the teacher used in ‘Like stars on earth’ to help the dad understand his son’s experience of the world. Such a great film. I told everyone about it and just as it is with my K drama experience now no one was interested once they knew it had subs!
Queen is a new one on me so I will add to the watch list.

Queen is soooooo good!!!!!!!! You will love watching a young woman whose wedding plans get canceled days before the wedding, pick herself up and explore the world. It’s really marvelous!
I’ve told so many people about these films but rarely does anyone in my world want to watch something even WITH subs. sigh. Their loss!

I like both movies but haven´t seen them in years.
Queen was an instant favorite so I´m really excited for my rewatch.
