Any beanies watching Shadow Detective? I think it’s underrated for a crime, mystery drama. I’m watching it live and it’s my first crime mystery drama after so long and i absolutely loving it! Love the writting and cliffhangers. Lee Sungmin is brilliant here
I’m watching. I like it, this week’s episodes a little less than the previous ones, but yes, Lee Sung min is great. I guess Disney+ started planning a S2 even before S1 started..
Ah i wish i can discuss the drama here with you without telling spoilers.
I actually prefer this week’s episodes cos they are more intense. I guess this week’s episodes are quite predictable for you?
And yes, they’re shooting for S2 now. I’m not sure how to feel about it since i think 8 episode format for this drama is perfect
I knew the focus would shift to the corruption/drugs/redevelopment, but I liked when Lee Sung Min’s character was racing around trying to solve old cases. It was still good though.
I actually don’t mind a S2 in this case. It bothers me more when it happens because of high ratings, but in this case, it was planned beforehand, so I don’t have to worry about an open ending that will never be explained or a story that has nothing more to say. Plus, with 8-episode seasons, the story-telling can stay tight.
I did suspect there are at least 2 Friend(s) but didn’t expect they don’t reveal it in this season.
Do you understand the first Friend’s motive? Cos i don’t. I have no idea why he did what he did and the drama didn’t seem to explain it
I knew there were two since Friend called when Ji-han was with Taek-rok, but like you, I thought they would reveal who he was working with this season.
I’m not sure. We know he needed dirt on Captain Seo and co. to stop the redevelopment. Hyun-seok wouldn’t give it to him, so he killed him and set up Taek-rok as a pawn. He chose Taek-rok because of their past interaction. It was like he was using him and punishing him at the same time for convincing him to stay a cop and for turning out to be a dirty one, not following what he preached.
So he wanted to stop the redevelopment? And Jinhan was pointing his finger at Taekrok, claiming that his biggest mistake is making him stay as a cop? I see… now that makes sense!
And i thought Hyunseok was his ally, from the flashback, and the one who killed Hyunseok was the Jinhan’s partner… i mean the evidence was dark and i thought i wasn’t Jinhan at first but how does that handphone got to that ahjumma when Hyunseok was already dead?
Yeah, he was trying to bring Chairman Jang down but his informant was killed and his son was sick, so he joined hands with him, his mission being to stop the redevelopment, or at least stop Captain Seo and the others from being the ones to profit off of it. That’s what I understood anyway.
I’m not sure. The partner may have been the one to kill him. That was all confusing.

Thank you, I’m very much into them unless they have horror undertones.

No, it doesn’t have horror undertones. It has, what i believe, one of the best cliffhangers in kdramas

I finished them this morning. I was hoping S2 would cover a new case but guess not. I have no clue who the new Friend is.
