I binged Happiness and I absolutely love it. From the first few minutes of the first episode I was sold. The chemistry and easy camaraderie between Sae-beom and Yi-hyun had me grinning a LOT.
I liked how we didn’t get that dark tone used to show apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic situations in movies and shows. The sky was always a beautiful blue. And Hyung-sik’s eyes were as pretty pretty expressive as ever, and his nose as boopable. Honestly, I wanted to reach through the screen several times and do just that. And is it just me or is there something very huggable about him in Happiness? He looks broader and very, very huggable.
I enjoyed the rest of the cast. Tae-seok wasn’t bad, which was nice. Some of the people in the apartment complex were human and just as bad as the monsters outside the apartment. You know, because sometimes people are just awful, with or without stuff happening.
And the soundtrack! I’ve added most of the soundtrack to my playslist, because it’s just that good. Speaking of soundtracks I tried to watch Soundtrack #1 but couldn’t. And I really wanted to because of Hyung-sik. But after reading the recap and attempting to watch episode one, I can say that it’s definitely not for me. Or maybe it’s because I just watched and enjoyed him and Hyo-joo in Happiness 🤷🏾♀️, and his current show can’t quite sell me on its pairing.
