For the first time in almost 2 years, I’m picking up a drama (except Squid game). Forecasting Love and weather. I like the vibe. I love PMY, always. I do like her character and I’ve fallen into this pit of enjoying hating on despicable ML/2nd ML in manhwa, so Yoon Park’s character is a welcome (he plays douchebags pretty well). I even like the whole weather angle. But Song Kang…. His voice, his vibe, his color doesn’t seem to suit this drama, imo. The tone of his voice is so peppy and his character is also somewhat immature. I, normally, wouldn’t even notice it. Maybe it’s cause I’ve been away from K-dramas in a while but every time he comes on screen, it feels like he’s in a different drama – like a makjang…? No, not that. I’m not sure I make sense.
Anyway, it’s been a minute since I’ve been here. Though late, Happy new year, Beanies. (I’m west-African… we greet ‘Happy new year’ even in July if we we’re just seeing each other for the first time in a year).
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I was unaware of such a practice, but I find the concept lovely and wholesome. It just makes logical sense.
I’ll second what mindy above said and also recommend Twenty Five Twenty One. I struggled with Song Kang (among other things) in Forecasting Love and Weather as well and that drama turned out to be the perfect cure. I’d say at least give it a try.
It’s an unofficial practice. I find myself telling people I haven’t spoken to in 2 years, ‘happy 2 new years’ even if I meet them in September 💀💀.
The drama is really good. I dropped Love and weather. Song Kang’s character is a hill I don’t have the energy to climb, atm.
