I just finished On the Verge of Insanity and it’s really an underrated gem of 2021! I’m super impressed by the realistic portrayal of breakneck corporate world and every character reminds me of someone I met at work haha. I’m happy that they added the startup arc which is just the cherry on the cake and really helps to end the show on a positive note. OTVOI is like Misaeng upgraded with humor nicely sprinkled here and there and well-crafted backdrop of a home appliance R&D center. Highly recommended!
This is certainly one of the best dramas in 2021. I love how ‘real’ it is in depicting workplace issues and corporate brutality – but spiced with sympathetic (and also pathetic) characters played by a superb cast.
And, yes, the ending with our middle-aged ML going the startup route is certainly uplifting and very Misaeng-sque.
The funny thing is the startup plot in OTVOI is exactly what Start Up should have looked like, not the dump love triangle that provoked fan wars everywhere 🤧.
I chuckled when every despicable employee characters, except the chaebol boss, had their own redemption arc at the end. I guess the final take is that corporate workers should band themselves together for protection because the company will almost always prioritize profits over their workers.
BTW it seems like the show managed to gather lots of seasoned middle aged actors that look their age, which added nice touch of realness to the characters. I’m grateful that shows like OTVOI exist and let these actors shine in their own way.

Marathoned OtVoI last week and found it hands down one of the best 2021 dramas 💚 It sure made me glad I don’t work in the corporate world 😂

Hah I felt the same. I briefly interned at a big corporate and was glad that I didn’t have to make a career there.

Such a wonderful show. I keep saying I never thought a drama about dishwashers would be this compelling.
Also Moon SoRi is an absolute goddess!!
