I have been watching Hwayugi since a few days ago.
I generally categorize dramas into 2 categories:
1. good dramas that I need to give full attention when watching.
2. crappy dramas that I dont need to pay much attention to and I can do house chores as I watch, like folding laundry
Hwayugi falls into the latter category. But after 10 episodes, even house chores can’t save me from getting too annoyed with the drama.
Hwayugi calls itself a fantasy drama but is actually a horible, horrible melo that talks about love every 2 minutes. I feel cheated.
I love romance dramas just like the next person, but this excessive talk about love in the drama is too much.
The drama wasn’t funny AT ALL. The only good thing about the drama is the zombie girl, Ma Wang and the opening scenes of episode 1 where young Sam Jang met Ma Wang and Oh Gong for the first time.
Suffice to say, I skipped to episode 20 and skipped through that episode too.
Apart from having the characters talk about love in every other scene, this drama has nothing
Ohhhh Hwayugi. That drama was so disappointing. I was fine with it for the first 9-10 eps- not great, but not awful- and then nothing happened. Same ish different episode. And the ending…..that ending was just….. What a waste of a cast.

Seung Gi was totally wasted in this drama. I kinda felt sorry for him
