Final thoughts for Spies: I actually hoped Derek is the one who killed Sophie to add more depth to the character. But since show has been pretty consistent and they’ve been hinting that Derek did not kill her, but it would be good to see the side where he actually is a murderer.

I totally could not feel attached to the scenes where we saw Areum mourn. Probably because show has been building feelings and emotions between Areum and Ji Hoon, I could not feel from the perspective of Derek.

I also thought Derek shouldn’t have did what he did in the last few eps. Areum is a woman of strong character. I’m pretty sure she would have found ways out for the both of them. What he did was a little unnecessary but show probably needed to tie up due to the lack of time… and I actually hoped to see an actual scene of Areum using a gun or a fake one even.

All in all, Spies tied up nicely, more could be done such as the screen time for our lead couple or the capabilities of our female lead, but it’s a consistent drama throughout its run.
