I finally got around to watching season 2 of Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim and Kim Minjae and So Juyeon were ADORABLE, which got me thinking about other secondary/side couples in kdramas. So beanies, what are your favorite kdrama side couples?

    The soeulmate; Yijung sunbae and Gaeul yang of BOF (and by stretch ximen-xiaoyou if meteor garden).
    But nowadays theres a lot 2ndary couple whom outshine the leads such as Goblin’s pichi and; kim seonho and chewbacca in strongest deliveryman;

      Ahhh the secondary couple of my childhood! Kim Beom was swoony from then til now!

      Ngl I only finished Strongest Deliveryman for Jin-kyu and Ji-yoon.

        I believe almost all of the SD viewers stayed for them. GKP and CSB are both great actors, but the chemistry between them is meh. Not to mention the leads’ story is uber predictable, were more invested in 2ndary (jinkyu and jiyoon)’s storyline.

      I want to add more! 😂😂😂
      High Society’s Park Hyunsik and Lim Jiyeon. They too, carried the show. Uee and SungJoon are so busy act like theyre angry and frustated; we viewers are so confused wether they supposed to be in love, manipulated each other, or if theyre frustated for real. 😑😑.

        I thought about High Society as well! I don’t even remember what was the storyline between Uee and SungJoon but I definitely remember those two

      I’ve read so many comments about the strongest deliveryman second couple that I almost feel like picking up this drama again just for them but I remember I didn’t really like the first episodes at all.

        Yeah, even though I like GKP a lot, his hair style is legit awful in the show. Plus, I hear KSH stole the show there, and his character and storyline were more compelling.

    Runner ups off the top of my head would be:
    Soo-ji and Sang-goo in BTLIOF
    Shin-joo and Yu-ri in Nine-Tailed
    Young-hee and Hyun-jae in More Than Friends

      YES for Sooji and Sang-goo! I’m liking Young-Hee and Hyun-Jae as well but rn I think I’m more invested in the Jinjoo – Sanghyeok pair.

    I like the second lead couple Kim Ji-seok and Ye Ji-won in Another Oh Hae-young. They are so hilarious!

      This one is my all time favourite!! I sometimes go and rewatch their scenes together because they were funny and sweet and awwwwwwww.

    Sunny and Grim Reaper in Goblin.
    Dan and SeungJun in CLOY (I will never be over this one)
    MyKyung and HyunSoo / WonJae and Kang Hee / WonSuk and HoDol in Love with flaws.
    Scarlett and JiHwan in WWW.
    Security couple in Where the stars land (the only reason I could finish that drama).

      Somin and Minjoon is one of my favourites as well! Along with Goblin and WWW. Oof my heart hurts just thinking of the CLOY couple. It reminds me a lot of The King 2 Hearts (what is it with North Korea related dramas and tragic second leads?). It still baffles me how Love with Flaws had so many great secondary couples yet the main one left me feeling lukewarm.

        The problem with Love with flaws is that writer chose wrong ML. I mean, FL has far better chemistry with SML. OTP was so dull, and had no chemistry at all… but all the secondary couples were ❤️❤️❤️❤️

      I didn’t mention PK and Puja from Hwayugi, because they were never exactly a couple, but I really, really loved them and were the best part of the drama.
      I’ll never get tired of saying “Justice for Pu-ja!”.
