Awwwww reading through the recap of Marriage not dating, and I realized why I loved the drama in the first place. My beloved Han Groo and Yeon woo Jin ❤️❤️❤️💙💙❤️
It was actually one of those early dramas that changed the concept of Korean romantic scenes ❤️❤️
I loved this drama. The first half of the show was especially good, although the last half flagged a bit as far as I’m concerned. This drama had one of the most unique, quirky, and complicated pairing that I’ve ever seen in a K-drama. As well, the mom remains an interesting and complex character as far I’m concerned.
Turns out there is something better than the female lead having an actual arc and genuine character development – it’s when that all goes to the mother in law.
I think most of the show was pretty lighthearted and funny, so I was okay with the female protagonist not growing much. She already seemed like a pretty decent person at the start of the drama, so it’s only natural that the less-than-decent people in the drama (the dude and his mom) would grow.
I’m a huge fan, Marriage Not Dating is one of the few shows I can rewatch over and over again. That’s because the OTP behave like adults through the whole thing and the message is that the female lead shouldn’t have to change to fit into the male lead’s family, it’s time for MIL to change instead.
Agree with this! As I noted, I think the FL started off pretty great and it was just a matter of getting the less-than-decent people to change! Also a really funny show.
