I just really love fusion sageuks, ok? And I love this drama. It had everything I love about historical dramas—the beautiful sets and costumes, the language, romantic moments in the palace—plus the added benefit of some more modern takes on the lives and treatment of women during the Joseon dynasty and the relationship between the two leads. I was also so invested in many of of the relationships between the other characters, and I finished the drama feeling really happy I gave it a shot. I miss the weekly Yemun-gwan dealings and the shenanigans going on in Prince Dowon’s secluded corner of the Palace. Looks like it’s time for a rewatch?
