Hospital Playlist Ep.11 (again)

The last song Jung-Won wanted to sing (but got cut by Song-Hwa and Ik-Joon took the mic):
“이젠 안녕, Good-bye Now”
안녕은 영원한 헤어짐은 아니겠지요
다시 만나기 위한 약속일꺼야
함께했던 시간은 이젠 추억으로 남기고
서로 가야할 길 찾아서 떠나야 해요
The word “goodbye” doesn’t mean we are parting forever
I’ll make a promise that we’ll meet again
The time we spent together will be left as reminiscence
We have to leave in order to find our own road
이제는 우리가 서로 떠나가야 할 시간
아쉬움을 남긴 채 돌아서지만
시간은 우리를 다시 만나게 해 주겠지
우리 그때까지 아쉽지만 기다려봐요
Now it’s time for us to leave each other
I turn around leaving a regret
But time will bring us back together
It’s unfortunate but let’s wait until that time comes
안녕: Hello, Goodbye, Hi, How are you?
Such an amazing word. It represents both greeting and farewell.
The lyrics of this song are exactly the Winter-Garden’s journey.
The fact that Jung-Won, in his drunken state, wants to sing this song makes me cry joyful tears.
But another fact that the lyrics also contain the word “Winter, makes me cry even harder.
Right?! And I don’t know how to feel about that. Open-ending is one thing, but “ending with a bunch of cliffhangers” is another matter. I love this quintet for sure (and all the side characters for that matter), but as with the Reply series if the show does get a second (or, gods, a third) season, the story might just lose it’s magic on me.
They are trying something new with the franchise. I also hate it that they seem to hold us hostage by leaving all these lovelines unresolved. At least it’s a fun and heartwarming journey this season. Let’s hope the next one will be the same.
These lyrics are exactly where I think Ik-joon and Song-hwa are headed. She’s leaving town to let him “get over her,” but I’m hoping she’s going to realize that she’s actually much more attached to him than she recognized.
I think both Song-Hwa and Jung-Won are in the same situation. They’ve been controlling and suppressing their feelings for too long.
Song-Hwa thought Ik-Joon thinks of her as a mere friend. Jung-Won, too, has set his mind in priesthood since very young. So when LOVE falls upon them without prior notice, they’re inevitably flustered. They need time (and space) to clear their minds to find out what they really want. That’s why both are leaving.

It looks like they’re setting us up to end with a bunch of cliff hangers.

I’ll watch the next one as long as it keeps the same tone.
