After leaving our beloved Yumi and her village of cells single three years ago, TVING has finally announced the lineup for Yumi’s Cells 3. Reprising her role as the titular Yumi, Kim Go-eun (Little Women) returns alongside her new romance partner Kim Jae-won (The Tale of Lady Ok).
Picking up from season 2, Kim Yumi (Kim Go-eun) has become a famous romance author, capturing the hearts of her readers. However, despite her success, love still remains difficult for her, and even her village of cells are taking a break. While Yumi’s world remains quiet without an ounce of excitement, a new breeze suddenly blows through her life, causing her cells to stir.
That agent of change is none other than Yumi’s new editor Shin Soon-rok (Kim Jae-won). Contrary to his pretty face, Soon-rok only spits facts to the point of being frigid, but this Rational Cell-esque editor encounters something different when he meets Yumi and her Emotional Cell.
In addition to our two leads, Jeon Suk-ho (Squid Game 3) will reprise his role as editor Ahn Dae-young of Julie Publishing, as will Miram (Queen’s House) who played Yumi’s friend and Dae-young’s wife Kang Yi-da. A few more familiar faces will also be appearing in guest roles including Sung Ji-ru (Good Boy) as Yumi’s dad and Lee Yubi (7 Escape – Resurrection) as the bubbly Ruby.
As for the new faces, Daniel Choi (Sorry Not Sorry) will play a drama original character, Kim Ju-ho. Like Yumi, Ju-ho is an accomplished author working for the same publisher and editor. He is a super extrovert and the complete opposite of introverted Soon-rok. Rounding out the cast, Jo Hye-jung (Our Blues) plays Yumi’s assistant writer Baek Na-hee, and Park Se-in (I Have Not Done My Best Yet) will take on the role of PD Jang.
Also returning for the third season are PD Lee Sang-yub (Yumi’s Cells 2) and writers Song Jae-jung (Yumi’s Cells 2) and Kim Kyung-ran (Yumi’s Cells 2). TVING’s Yumi’s Cells 3 is slated to release in the first half of 2026.

I don't know how I feel about a drama original character being in a potential love triangle with Yumi...

Why is Ruby back? She is the annoying and unnecessary character in this story.
Happy with everything else.

She is a supportive presence to Yumi at least in the webtoon after her character development (when she got together with Z), partly in getting her to want to date again + with Soonrok

I'm quite surprised by the choice of Kim Jae-won, I liked him in teenager role not so much in adult ones because he looked too young.
But I'm excited to meet Yumi again! I like her.
